John P. Pedraza

Digital Design & Graphics

Special Recognition: June 2015 Student of the Month

I graduated Summa Cum Laude with an Associate in Science in digital design and graphics, December 2014.

Career goal:
My goal is to one day own a design firm and be a professional graphic artist.

Tell us a little about yourself and your life:
I am a veteran of the United States Air Force (USAF). I have always loved fine art in every form. I have been drawing and painting as far back I can remember. I decided to go into law enforcement after separating from the USAF. I have never lost my love for art. It had been 13 years since I’d taken my last college course when I decided to go to Hodges University for a degree in digital design and graphics.

What are your hobbies / extracurricular activities?
I like to draw, paint and spend time with my family. I am the youth coordinator at my church, Ministerios El Vive, Inc.

What has been your favorite class at Hodges University?
I have not disliked any of the classes I have taken, but my favorite has been Introduction to Graphic Design. I learned how to use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator in this course. This course opened my eyes to the vast possibilities in design with computer programs. Every new design class I take, I learn new things. I truly have enjoyed them all. The professors do a great job pushing me to do better and become more creative.
