Equipped with a vast knowledge of psychology, Dr. Nikel Rogers-Wood focuses much of her research and teachings on counseling psychology, specifically women’s emotional health, disordered eating, stress and coping, anxiety, depression, adjustment, relationship concerns, family dynamics, self-concept and career development.
In previous years, she served as an adjunct and assistant professor for other academic institutions. She also worked with a variety of clinical concerns in various settings including community mental health, college counseling centers, private practice and skilled nursing facilities.
In 2007, she received the award for Outstanding Service from the Department for Housing and Residence Life at the University of North Texas.
When she isn’t teaching or visiting with clients, she enjoys educating and informing the community about various psychological issues through speaking engagements and blogging.
