With more than 25 years of experience as a licensed mental health counselor, Dr. Janice Clarkson has taught in colleges and universities for 20 years and has maintained a private practice on Amelia Island since 1990. Joining Hodges University in 2006, her areas of expertise include mental and emotional health and addiction. Also, she is a site team reviewer for the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs, and a State of Florida approved supervisor for mental health interns. Previously, she served as a psychologist in Hendry Correctional Facility.
Due to her work in the field of psychology, she received the Stephen Shank award for outstanding service, as well as the President’s Award for continued high-level online teaching.
In her free time, Clarkson enjoys paddle boarding, long-distance cycling, tennis and golf.
