A professor in the Legal Studies program at Hodges University, Dr. Char Wendel has spent many years working in a variety of professional companies and organizations. Considering herself an advocate for social justice, her professional experience includes working as a psychotherapist, a crisis intervention/suicide assessment clinician, a rape crisis center director, a lawyer, a chief executive officer of a health care organization, an instructions designer and a college and university professor.
Her areas of expertise include nonprofit management, women’s issues, donor relations/fundraising, grant writing, media outreach and advocacy, tort law, public health issues, and online learning and instructional design.
Her outside interests include serving as a board member for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Naples Chapter and the PFLAG Naples Chapter, practicing yoga and working on becoming a registered yoga instructor, reading, watching movies, and kayaking.
