This certificate program is designed to provide English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction to enhance a student’s existing knowledge, training, and job skills and further the student’s ability to communicate in English and pursue employment opportunities in the United States.
The focus of the program is on a) speaking and listening comprehension; b) vocabulary and reading comprehension; and c) grammar and writing skills. Computer-assisted language learning enables students to reinforce their English skills. Leisha Cali, Hodges’ ESL director, provides three tips to increase your English skills while in college.

Financial Aid is available for Levels 1-3 for students who qualify.
A noncredit, college preparatory English course is also offered at the advanced level. This course is designed to provide English language instruction to advanced learners of English who are preparing for college or need to increase their knowledge of academic English for professional purposes.

The program is designed to provide instruction in academic reading, writing, and grammar for non-native speakers of English who are pursuing a college degree at Hodges University.
