    Standard Offerings — seminars and institutes 

    These events will be held annually.  

    Indiana University’s Introduction to Major Gifts Course 
    The prestigious Indiana University Lilly School of Philanthropy offers this session.  Taught to their curriculum and by their faculty, participants will learn to differentiate between annual and major gifts; assess organizational readiness for major gifts; develop a Major Gift Plan; address motivations of major donors; and draft a case statement.

    Strengthening Nonprofit Board Leadership, Governance, and Accountability
    A strong and effective partnership must exist between the board and the executive director to insure mission fulfillment, strategic achievements, and the implementation of accountability standards.  This session is designed for board members and executive directors, and most effective when both attend together. 

    Advanced Leadership Institute 
    This executive-level Institute addresses today’s complex nonprofit organizations and the leadership attributes and strategies needed to achieve success.  This content-rich session focuses on achieving mission clarity and cultivating the organization needed to support it.  Discussions will also focus on the leader’s clear and unwavering understanding of his/her values and “authentic self.” 

    Management Institute         
    Nonprofit organizations are multi-faceted and require formal supporting systems and procedures.  This session will cover best practices to support fund development, special events, financial integrity, community relations, and more.

    Topic-Specific Series

    The Topic-Specific Morning Series 8:30 to 10:00 a.m.
    Topic-specific sessions, offered monthly, provide an overview to fund development, governance, and organizational issues.

    The Professional You Series 8:30 to 10:00 a.m.
    These sessions are offered throughout the year.  They focus on YOU in the professional environment and discuss the myriad of challenges often faced.  


    The CNE offers a Hodges University Continuing Education Certificate in Nonprofit Excellence. To qualify, participants must complete two seminars or institutes and at least three topic-specific sessions within a three-year period. To qualify, please contact the CNE at cne@hodges.edu for more information.

    CFRE Certification can be earned for many CNE seminars and institutes as well as topic-specific sessions.
