Volz named Professor Emeritus at Hodges University

Hodges University News

On the occasion of her retirement, Carolynn Volz has been appointed “Professor Emeritus” by Hodges University President Dr. Jeanette Brock. The appointment is in recognition of Carolynn’s many years of service to the institution.

The title of Professor Emeritus status is bestowed upon an eligible individual who has provided meritorious service to the University as demonstrated by significant contributions in teaching, administrative leadership, research, or community service.

Volz was instrumental in the development and expansion of the library resources and services provided in the Terry P. McMahan Library at the University.  This project saw the size of the library more than double, with several study rooms added, at her suggestion, and state-of-the-art technologies employed which now give students an exciting, vibrant center conducive for world-class study and research.

She has also served as the Executive Director of the Southwest Florida Library Network, and was named the Florida Library Association’s 2013 Librarian of the Year.
