Take Charge of Your Health and Wellness at Free Event on May 13
University’s School of Allied Health
will host the 2016
Health and Wellness Fair from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13. The
event will be held on the Naples campus, which is located at 2647 Professional
Way, Naples, FL 34119. This event is free and open to the public.
year’s event will feature complimentary health screenings, BMI and blood
pressure checks, vision and hearing screenings, chiropractic care and spinal
screening, foot and gait analysis, free massages, health and wellness education
and products, fitness demonstrations, personal training, door prizes, raffles and
more. The Bloodmobile from the Community Blood Center will also be on campus
accepting blood donations.
University invites the community to our campus to learn about healthy living
and wellness from local health care professional experts. Our goal is to engage
the community with health professionals from within Collier County, as well as
provide an opportunity for potential students to visit our campus,” said Tracy
Ramsay, MSN, RN, CNE, assistant professor and director of program development
in the School of Allied Health.
9:15 a.m. to noon, medical professionals will be on site to discuss various
topics relating to health and wellness. Dr. Caroline Cederquist, physician at
the Cederquist Medical Wellness Center, will discuss “Nutrition for Healthy
Living,” followed by Dr. Allen Weiss, CEO of NCH Healthcare System, who will
provide information about the “Blue Zones” project. Additional guest speakers
include Margo English with Vitas Healthcare, who will share insights on “Coping
Strategies for Healthy Living,” and Shawn King, ARNP, FNP-BC, MS, an advanced
registered nurse practitioner, who will discuss “Yoga – Is It for Me?”
Corcoran with Healthy Living Caravan and MJ Scarpelli with Vitas Healthcare
will also be in attendance. Hodges University would like to thank Vistas
Healthcare and Healthy Living Caravan for co-sponsoring this year’s event.
