Nonprofit Leaders to Learn About Strengthening Board Leadership and Annual Campaigns

Hodges University News

Nonprofit executive directors, board members and staff are encouraged to attend two workshops during the month of October, hosted by Hodges University’s Center for Nonprofit Excellence.

The “Strengthening Nonprofit Board Leadership, Governance and Accountability” workshop will take place from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 6. Attendees will learn the unique governance needs of nonprofit boards. This course is designed to ensure existing and new boards get the fundamentals right. Together, participants will explore the role of the board as a whole, as well as how individuals can utilize their skills and experiences to further the organization’s mission. The result is a clear roadmap to build proper governance efficacy, code of conduct, committee charters and a robust partnership with the executive director.

Mina Merkel, international consultant, will serve as the presenter for the event.

In addition, participants may receive 6.5 Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) points for this session.

The fee to attend is $300 for the initial organization’s/participant’s registration and $50 for each additional attendee from the same organization. Registration is available online at https://www.hodges.edu/cne/schedule.aspx. The workshop will be held in the White Community Room on the Naples campus – 2647 Professional Way, Naples, FL 34119.

The Basics of an Annual Campaign” workshop will take place from 8:00-10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 12. Every nonprofit needs multiple revenue streams to advance its mission and maintain a sustainable and growing budget. A healthy annual campaign provides a predictable source of income while forming the base of donor engagement and a steady pipeline of new relationships. During this session, John Riley, president of Riley Philanthropy; and Roman Lucky, senior consultant with Riley Philanthropy, will provide an overview of an annual campaign, explore key elements of a campaign, recognize the calendar impact and share best practices.

Participants may receive 1.5 Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) points for this session.

The fee to attend is $35 per person. Registration is available online at https://www.hodges.edu/cne/schedule.aspx. The workshop will be held in the White Community Room on the Naples campus – 2647 Professional Way, Naples, FL 34119.
