Institute of Management Accountants grants Hodges University Charter
Hodges University announced today that it has been granted a charter for a Student Chapter of the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). An IMA Student Chapter is a voluntary organization of IMA Student Members enrolled at a recognized institution of higher education, operating under the sponsorship of an IMA Parent Chapter or IMA Regional Council, to further the objectives of the IMA, especially in matters of concern to students.
IMA membership provides opportunities for students to associate with business professionals; to see how they live, work, and apply their knowledge; and to learn that professionals are seriously devoted to ethical standards and to the advancement of their profession.
“This is a great boost for students looking to forward their careers in business,” said Dr. Nancey Wyant, Dean of the Johnson School of Business at Hodges.
“Chapter membership in the IMA provides significant ‘beyond the classroom’ learning experiences, offers undergraduate research and case competition opportunities, provides meaningful opportunities for community service, and engages in programs leading directly to employment opportunities. We are honored to have been selected for a Student Chapter.”
