Identity Theft Continuing Education Workshops Offered in Southwest Florida

Southwest Florida individuals and professionals looking to expand their skills in identity theft restoration and data breach prevention are invited to attend one of the workshops hosted by Hodges University’s Identity Fraud Institute in April.

The “Developing a Data Breach Response Plan for Small Business and Nonprofits” one-day workshop will take place from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. April 7. Participants will discover how data breaches occur, as well as learn the consequences of a breach; learn how to reduce the risk of a breach and identify applicable privacy laws; and develop a data breach response plan and enhance data privacy policies. The cost to attend is $275 for individuals who register by March 24. Regular registration is $345 or $295 for nonprofit and government employees, and the deadline to register is March 31.

To address the issue of identity restoration, there will be an “Identity Theft Restoration for Individuals and Professionals” April 21 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Individuals and professionals interested in offering identity theft restoration and risk reduction services are encouraged to attend. Topics will include Types of Identity Theft, Warning Signs of Identity Theft, Methods and Tools Used, Deadlines and Laws, Restoration Process and Risk Reduction. There is a discounted rate of $275 for individuals who register by April 7. Regular registration is $345 or $295 for nonprofit and government employees, and the deadline to register is April 14.

All Identity Fraud Institute continuing education workshops are sponsored by CenturyLink and held on Hodges’ Naples campus, which is located at 2655 Northbrooke Drive, Naples, FL 34119. Attendees will receive a Certificate of Completion from Hodges University and proof of CE credits, if applicable.
