Hodges to host business plan competition for Collier high school students
For the second straight year, Hodges University will host the Collier County Public Schools entrepreneurship business plan competition. For high school seniors, the competition will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015. High school juniors will compete on May 15, 2015. Both events will take place at the Hodges University Stock Building in Naples.
The leading team from each participating school will present its business plan in front of a judging panel composed of business owners from Collier County. Other students will participate in group competitions that include job interview, digital design, finance test, and marketing concepts. Winners from the competitions will be named at 3:00 p.m. each day.
The competition is the culminating event for the entrepreneurship course launched in all Collier high schools in 2013. Students enrolled in the course spend the year focusing on real-life business activities, including the development and presentation of a business plan. Each school held its own competition to select a school team to present its plan to a panel of entrepreneurial business experts at this district-wide competition.
