Hodges professor named Educator of the Year

The Florida Health Information Management Association (FHIMA) has announced that Hodges University instructor Professor Martin Smith, MS, M.Ed, RHIA, CCA, has been selected as the FHIMA Educator of the Year in the state of Florida. The award will be presented at a Membership Luncheon, which will be held during the annual FHIMA convention in Orlando on July 23rd.

“This award is hard earned and well deserved,” said Dr. Carlene Harrison, Dean of the School of Allied Health. “Professor Smith takes the time to ensure that students learn and is a great role model for students and faculty alike.”

Professor Smith was also elected by the FHIMA membership to represent Florida on the national level as a Delegate to the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) for the upcoming year. 

Professor Smith is a full-time faculty member of the Health Information Management Program at Hodges University in its School of Allied Health.
