Hodges names 2013 Professor and Employee of the Year
Hodges University congratulates Dr. Susan Smith who was recently named the 2013 Professor of the Year. Dr. Smith is the Technology and User Experience Librarian and an Associate Professor for the Johnson School of Business, teaching a class in Research Methods. She also serves on both regional and state of Florida library committees.
Before joining Hodges, she worked in public libraries in Texas as a reference and fiction librarian. She holds a BA in English, an MA in Library and Information Studies, both from the University of Oklahoma, and a Ph.D. in Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington.
The Professor of the Year nomination process provides the opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to nominate the professor they feel is most deserving of this recognition.
Alyssa DeLora, Special Events Coordinator at Hodges University was named Employee of the Year for 2013. Ms. DeLora has worked at Hodges University for seven years in the Office of Advancement. Also an alumna of the institution, DeLora earned an Associate’s degree in Medical Assisting in 2008 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management in 2013.
“I truly believe that I am lucky to work for such an amazing institution,” she said. “I am so grateful to Phil Memoli who has always encouraged me to dream big and pursue my professional goals.”
DeLora received the Student Leadership Award for the Hodges University Ambassadors Club in 2008 and graduated from the Greater Fort Myers Leadership Program in 2009. She is also a strong supporter of the PACE Center for Girls, Lee County.
