Hodges University recognizes 2013 students of the year

On Friday, January 24, Hodges University will present its 16th annual Student Recognition Awards Program. The event will be held in the Science and Technology building at the Hodges University Naples Campus, beginning at 6:00 pm. The campus is located at 2655 Northbrooke Drive, near Immokalee Road and I-75.

Among the students being honored will be Kristen Sommer, the 2013 Student of the Year.  Kristen recently graduated from Hodges with a major in the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program. Her eventual goal is to become a Physical Therapist Assistant in an orthopedic or sports related setting. She was named Student of the Month in August, 2013.

Kristen is originally from New Jersey and moved to Fort Myers after she graduated from high school. She attended FGCU and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Performance. She had been working at Lee Memorial Hospital as a rehabilitation technician when she chose Hodges University in order to continue her education.

Individual programs of study will also present awards during the program.  In the Johnson School of Business, James Seaberg will receive recognition in Accounting; Christopher Perry, Business Administration; Dale Painter, Management; Allison Meinholz, Master of Science in Management Program; Radoslava Edreva, Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program; and Summer Odom, Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program.

Awards in the School of Allied Health will be presented to Diane McKelvey, Health Information Management Program; Gregory Forbes, Health Administration Program; Amanda Roszczewski, Physical Therapist Assistant Program; and Zulema Aragon, Medical Assisting Program.

The Nichols School of Professional Studies will recognize Cory Moss-Klassen, Applied Psychology Program; Marci Van D’Huynslager, Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program; Joann Craft, Interdisciplinary Studies Program; Jennifer Oliver, Legal Studies Program; Jeremiah Carroll, Criminal Justice Program; Susan Tallis, Master of Legal Studies Program; and Joie Morey, Master of Professional Studies Program.

In the Fisher School of Technology, awards will be presented to Joel Canova, Computer Information Technology Program; Elizabeth Phillips, Information Systems Management Program; Andres Castro, Digital Design and Graphics Program; and Michael Little, Master of Information Systems Management Program.
