Hodges University has named Andrea Fortin as the new program chair for its Digital Media and Communications program which launches this fall. The Baccalaureate program provides students with the skills necessary to communicate and participate effectively in today’s evolving technological landscape.

“The goal of this program is to prepare students for a variety of careers in communication, such as media production, web development, public service, advertising, public relations, media relations, journalism, and writing,” said Professor Fortin. “It combines communication theory and practice with the use of digital technology, while exploring topics such as cultural and ethical studies in media, interpersonal communication, and visual communication and design.”

Professor Fortin is a Fort Myers native, and has been teaching communication courses at Hodges University for two years. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications and English from Florida Gulf Coast University. She moved to New York City to attend Fordham University where she earned her Master’s in Public Communication with a focus in new media studies.
