Hodges University names 2015 Founders Award recipient
Hodges University has announced the recognition of Gillian Cummings-Beck, Director of Insurance & Risk Management for Chico’s FAS, Inc., as its 2015 Founders Award winner. The honor is presented annually to a Hodges University graduate from Lee County who has provided outstanding and distinguished service to our community. The award will be presented at the 5th annual Hodges University Luminary Awards luncheon on January 29, honoring longtime Fort Myers philanthropist and community activist Betty Bireley.
Gillian earned her MBA (Summa Cum Laude) from Hodges University, was inducted into Sigma Beta Delta and was recognized as the Johnson School of Business 2010 MBA Student of the Year.
“I use the skills I learned from Hodges University every day,” said Cummings-Beck. “Through all of the research and writing assignments required by her professors during my time at Hodges, that hard work helps me in my role at Chico’s. I’m also very supportive of the efforts made by Hodges University to assist veterans and their families in their pursuit of higher educational goals.”
Prior to relocating to Florida ten years ago, Gillian worked for the Department of the Navy where she was coordinator for one of the largest military air shows in the country. She also served as the Deputy Comptroller for Naval Special Warfare Command, Group ONE.
Gillian will be honored during the Hodges University Luminary Award luncheon on January 29 at 11am at the Broadway Palm Theater in Fort Myers. For ticket information, phone (239) 598-6235.
