Hodges University announces new accountancy and technology programs
Beginning this fall, Hodges University will offer two new degree programs of study: a Master of Accountancy Program (MAcc) and the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Business Analyst Program. Both will be available for students for the fall term which begins on September 9.
The Master of Accountancy Program is an accelerated program that supports required skill sets needed for specialized professional certifications. Demand for qualified accounting and financial professionals with specialized skills is projected to increase dramatically over the next six years.
The Fisher School of Technology at Hodges will offer the Information Systems Business Analyst Program which involves looking at how information and communications technology can be used to achieve strategic goals. The program will provide students with skills that are an asset to organizations that rely heavily on computer systems to function.
“Hodges is pleased to offer these two, highly sought after programs,” said Hodges University President Dr. Jeanette Brock. “There is a large market for the MAcc program, especially for students who are preparing for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exams. This program will prepare students for the rapidly changing accounting environment and the dynamic nature of the accounting profession.”
Locally, the university is also seeing a great demand from employers for Business Analysts. “The rapid growth in information technology solutions in business settings has thrust the Business Analyst/IT Strategist into an increasingly prominent role throughout many sectors,” said Dr. Al Ball, Program Chair. “The Business Analyst is experienced in both business and technology, and can leverage the use of data as a strategic business asset and decision-making tool.”
