Hodges University Promotes Dr. Aysegul Timur to Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs
University today announced the promotion of Dr. Aysegul Timur, dean of the
Johnson School of Business, to the position of senior vice president of
academic affairs. In her new role, Timur will be charged with fostering
collaboration among Hodges’ five schools and Southwest Florida’s employers so
that the area’s needs for an educated workforce can be effectively met. She
will also continue to oversee the Johnson School of Business.

Wortham, president of Hodges University.
Timur and Hodges University were recently
awarded funding from the FutureMakers Coalition’s Persistence and Progress
Regional Action Team for the development of a professional effectiveness
certificate program that will prepare individuals for the foundational skills
necessary to be successful in the workplace.
Timur joined Hodges University in 2000, and
her areas of expertise include business policy and organizational development,
quality control, statistics for strategic planning, health, and international
economics. She earned a B.S. in business administration and an MBA in business
policy and organization from the University of Istanbul, and a Ph.D. in
economics from the University of South Florida.
She holds memberships in Leadership Collier Foundation, Greater Naples
Chamber of Commerce – Opportunity Naples and Steering Committee member,
FutureMakers Coalition Champions Team, The Journal of American Academy of
Business Editorial Advisory Board and the Clute Institute. In addition, she is
a member of the Southern Economic Association, International Health Economics
Association, American Society of Health Economists, Naples Council on World
Affairs, Workforce Now research team member, APEX Circle – Greater Fort Myers
Chamber of Commerce, Horizon Council and the Southwest Florida Regional
Economic Development Alliance.
An active member of the community, Timur volunteers with Junior Achievement
of SW Florida; Leadership Collier Alumni Association; GCHS, NAF Academy,
Engineering Program Advisory Board; and Collier County Public Schools Business
Plan competition; speaking at civic organizations and participating in chamber
of commerce and other community organizations’ research projects.
