Hodges University Helps Nonprofit Organizations Succeed

The Hodges University Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNE) is hosting four workshops in June. The registration fee is $35 per workshop, unless otherwise noted. CNE participants who attend four workshops in either governance, operations or management can earn a noncredit certificate in the topic area.

The “Understanding the Generational Mix in the Workplace” workshop will take place from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7. Robin Larkin with Performance Management Associates Inc. will identify the five distinct generations in the workplace, discuss their behaviors at work and provide suggestions for successful communications and interactions across the generations. The workshop will be held in the Kleist Community Room, Building H on the Fort Myers campus – 4501 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33966.

The “Delegate with Meaning” workshop will take place from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 9. Robin Larkin with Performance Management Associates, Inc. will provide participants with delegation methods, rules, pitfalls to avoid, as well as share why delegation is such an important management tool. The workshop will be held in the White Community Room, Stock Building on the Naples campus – 2647 Professional Way, Naples FL 34119.

The “2016 Nonprofit Accounting and Audit Update” workshop will take place from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15. CliftonLarsonAllen will provide a full day of education that will address a broad spectrum of financial and accounting topics for nonprofit organizations. For this event, there is a registration fee of $50. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Register online. The workshop will be held in the White Community Room, Stock Building on the Naples campus – 2647 Professional Way, Naples FL 34119.

The “Developing Annual Sustainability” workshop will take place from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23 and Friday, June 24. Melissa Brown with Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, The Fund Raising School, will serve as the presenter. Participants will learn how to use the fundraising strategies that most appeal to potential donors and how to create a broad, enduring base of supporters who will take your nonprofit to its annual funding goal. Participants must stay through the end of the class in order to receive Continuing Education Units and the Certificate of Completion. The course will adjourn at 5:00 p.m. on the last day. Note: this is the third workshop that has been presented by Indiana University and is one of the core courses in the Certificate in Fund Raising Management. Registration is limited to 40 participants and the registration fee is $550, which includes breakfast and lunch for both days. Register online.
