Hodges University News

Hodges University’s Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNE) offers workshops and non-credit certificates in Governance, Operations, and Management. Workshops are $35 each and can be attended on a one-time basis or to obtain a certificate by attending a series of four workshops in the same category. The upcoming workshops in August will include volunteer recruitment, events, and planned giving.

The “Volunteer Managers’ Toolkit” workshop will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at the Fort Myers campus. Attendees will explore volunteer management topics related to applications, interviewing and screening volunteers. Leading the lecture is Kim Berghs, Volunteer Center Manager for United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades, and Okeechobee.

At the “What is YOUR Perfect Special Event?” workshop, taking place at the Naples campus on Aug. 13, a panel of nonprofit experts will discuss the evolution of their events, case studies, and positioning future events for success.

On Aug. 27, Paul B. Seifert, CFRE, Vice President for Development and Marketing, Conservancy of Southwest Florida, will lead the “Planned Giving Case Studies” workshop at the Naples campus. The presentation will include at least eight case studies from a variety of institutions involving planned gifts, from initial contact through cultivation and receipt of gift.

All presentations will take place from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. The Naples campus is located at 2655 Northbrooke Drive. The Fort Myers campus is located at 4501 Colonial Boulevard. For a full list of upcoming workshops and their certificate categories or to register, please visit Hodges.edu/CNE. To obtain a certificate, participants must first register with the CNE and complete four workshops in one of the three categories.
