Hodges University Center for Nonprofit Excellence Announces March Workshops
Hodges University Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNE) is hosting three
workshops in March. The registration fee is $35 per workshop. CNE participants
who attend four workshops in either governance, operations or management can
earn a noncredit certificate in the topic area.
“Building Your Organization’s Capacity to Fundraise” workshop will take place
from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1. Sheryl Soukup, CFRE, will walk
attendees through the steps to assess their organization’s preparedness to
fundraise. Attendees will receive valuable tips for building capacity in their
own organizations and learn how increasing their organization’s capacity in
areas such as stewardship, board engagement, communications and human resources
can impact their fundraising success. The workshop will be held in the Kleist
Community Room, Building H on the Fort Myers campus – 4501 Colonial Boulevard,
Fort Myers, FL 33966.
“Risk, Liability and Insurance – What you Need to Know” workshop, a
co-sponsored event with AFP and GNAPGC, will take place from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
on Thursday, March 10. Eileen Connolly-Keesler, moderator, and an expert
nonprofit panel will discuss the common areas of risk for nonprofit
organizations, as well as how risk can result in organizational and potential
personal liability for officers, directors and employees. Attendees will hear
from insurance experts about risks involved with conducting fundraising events,
a review of the different types of insurance coverage for nonprofits, as well
as a question and answer session. The workshop will be held in the Stock
Building White Community Room on the Naples campus – 2647 Professional Way,
Naples, FL 34119.
“Black Belt Giving: Ten Stages to Becoming a Master” workshop, a co-sponsored
event with GNAPGC, will take place from 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March
24. Alexandria Pia Brovey will explore the various stages in a typical gift
planner’s career path that leads to success; discuss lessons learned, gift
scenarios, training ideas and donor stories at each stage; interact and discuss
the art and science of gift planning, which include metrics versus goals,
blended gift scenarios and other current topics; and more. The workshop will be
held in the Stock Building White Community Room on the Naples campus – 2647
Professional Way, Naples, FL 34119.
