Hispanic Institute to hold Cinco de Mayo celebration

Hodges University News

The Hispanic Institute at Hodges University will hold a Cinco de Mayo celebration at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5 in the Stock Building on university’s Naples campus. During the event, guests will have an opportunity to network while learning more about the new direction of the Hispanic Institute from its newly appointed director Adriana Buitrago. The event will also feature music as well as appetizers from El Gaucho Inca Restaurant.

The Hispanic Institute was established in 2007 to inform policy-makers about issues vital to the growing Hispanic community, and to provide the community with information and analysis necessary for effective participation in public policy development. Since then it has sponsored a variety of educational workshops and seminars, addressed the educational needs of Hispanic students, and has prepared several research projects that have helped to expand an overall awareness of the Hispanic community’s needs.

The Cinco de Mayo celebration is free and open to the public but reservations are requested. Please contact Adriana Buitrago at (239) 598-6235.
