Frances Pew Hayes Center for Lifelong Learning fall 2011 course schedule set
Session guides for the fall 2011 term at Hodges University’s Frances Pew Hayes Center for Lifelong Learning are now available. Classes will begin October 17, 2011.
As a member-directed, multi-generational learning community, the Center invites area residents to participate in a diverse range of collaborative, life enhancing activities which are both intellectually and socially fulfilling.
“The Center prides itself on offering low registration fees and a wide variety of courses each semester,” said Christine Wheeler, Director of the Center. “We are constantly looking to offer different courses each semester, giving the participants a wide variety of choices.
“Annual membership in the Center allows access to more than 250 courses and activities and fosters commitment to the concept of lifelong learning, rather than to one particular course. In this environment, lifelong learning becomes a way of life where members provide each other with social and intellectual support leading to more active community involvement. Members not only attend and participate in the programs, but also help to plan them,” she said.
Programs are planned and led by Hodges University faculty or notable industry experts. The broad-based curriculum allows for stimulating discussion groups, lectures, field trips, and workshops involving arts and literature, economics, the environment, health and wellness, philosophy and spirituality, creative writing and more. Session guides are available at the Hodges University Naples campus or by calling (239) 598-6210.
