Hodges University News

Data privacy is a concern for any business owner. Individuals in the field of human resources, IT or office management who are responsible for the data privacy of an organization are invited to a seven-week series on Data Privacy Management hosted by Hodges University’s Identity Fraud Institute (IFI).

The seven-week series will run October 5 through November 16 on Wednesdays and will be held from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges University’s Naples campus, which is located at 2655 Northbrooke Drive, Naples, FL 34119. Online live streaming will be available.

“Data privacy is no longer just a concern for IT. As a business owner or manager, it is your responsibility to implement data privacy in your organization. To help you through this complex process, the IFI has developed a seven-week course where you will learn the basics of data privacy such as conducting a risk assessment, developing policies and procedures and implementation,” said Carrie Kerskie, director of Hodges’ Identity Fraud Institute.

Attendees can expect to discover how data breaches occur, learn the consequences of a breach, learn how to reduce the risk of a breach and discover applicable privacy laws. In addition, attendees will learn the data privacy process, be able to conduct a basic data privacy assessment, be able to create a data privacy and breach plan, and identify resources for assistance.

The cost to attend is $699 for the full series or $125 for a single class. Individuals can register online at To receive a Hodges University Certificate of Completion, individuals must take the entire course.
