Within the discipline of sociology, Michael Granata is an expert on American Foreign Policy and social problem of suicide. He has 34 years of teaching experience in psychology, sociology, race and ethnicity, criminology, and social psychology. Since 2011, he has taught in the School of Liberal Arts at Hodges University. His research interests include foreign policy, civil rights, suicide prevention and criminology.
Granata has teaching awards from the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives. He participates in extensive research with the distinguished scholar Dr. Michael Parenti on his classic, “Democracy for the Few.” He has also developed a seminar on suicide prevention used by NIMH and CARES, a suicide prevention organization of which he is a consultant.
