A professional heath care administrator and university professor, Dr. John Nemecek joined Hodges University's School of Health Sciences in 2016. His professional career in health care began in 1968 as a U.S. Navy enlisted hospital corpsman. He later received a commission as a naval officer health care administrator in the U.S. Navy Medical Service Corps and retired after 22 years.
As a health care administrator, he has held many senior-level positions, as well as served as president and CEO of his own health care consulting firm. After his retirement from the U.S. Navy, he worked as a public health advisor with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), retiring after almost 20 years of supporting the National Immunization Program.
Throughout his academic career, Nemecek has taught undergraduate and graduate level courses in health care administration, clinical nursing and public health.
