A member of Hodges faculty since 2004, Dr. Andrew Weyl specializes in business law and American government in the Legal Studies program. After graduating with his bachelor’s degree from Gustavus Adolphus College, he worked for Congressman Tim Penny, gaining inside knowledge of Congress and the national political system. He later accepted a position at TCF Mortgage as a loan officer before attending law school.
While pursuing his law degree, he worked at the Minnesota Governor’s office as a legislative analyst assisting the office in working legislation through the state houses. After completing his J.D. and MBA degrees, he served as a clerk for District Judge Deborah Jacobson before starting a private practice. Years later, he served as legal counsel on matters of legislative/regulatory importance in the legal and compliance department of US Bank in their corporate trust division.
Moving to Florida, he began working for Hodges, which he admits, “I have enjoyed the experience immensely.”
When he is not in the classroom, Weyl enjoys marathon running, trekking, high altitude mountaineering, traveling and fine arts.
