2010 Spring Golf Classic & Scholarship Gala
 
Hodges University Annual Spring Golf Classic & Scholarship Gala
On March 19th & 20th, Hodges University hosted its Sixth Annual Spring Golf Classic & Scholarship Gala at Pelican Preserve Golf Club in Fort Myers. The Scholarship Gala was attended by over 300 friends and benefactors of Hodges University in support of student scholarships. The next morning, the Spring Golf Classic Tournament hosted 34 foursomes, offering trophies for First and Second Place Finishers in both a Championship and Player Flights.

First Place Finishers in the Championship Flight include Bob Mandraccia, Kerry Trowbridge, Ed Houck, and TJ Wolnick. Second Place Finishers include Jim Marcelak, Randy Braun, David Call, and Jeremy Viltro.

First Place Finishers in the Player Flight include Terry Igo, Chip Grady, Steve Greenstein, and Steve Brown. Second Place Finishers include Bob Hetzel, Edward McGowan, Don Lacy, and Jason Aldrich. Congratulations!

100% of the net proceeds from the event were dedicated to providing critical scholarship support for Hodges University students; 50% for veterans and their eligible family members established by the new GI Bill, and 50% for other deserving students.

Founded in 1990, Hodges University has established itself as one of the premier private universities in the state of Florida. Hodges has main campuses located in Naples and Fort Myers and additional learning sites at Immokalee, Edison State College in Fort Myers and Punta Gorda, Pasco-Hernando Community College, South Florida Community College and Florida Keys Community College. The mission of Hodges University is to offer Associate, Baccalaureate and Graduate degrees as well as other programs which enhance the ability of students to achieve life or career objectives. In addition to offering courses in 18 professional disciplines and its comprehensive English as a Second Language Program, Hodges University fulfills educational and personal enrichment needs for area seniors through facilitation of the Frances Pew Hayes Center for Lifelong Learning.

Humanitarian Luncheon
 
Humanitarian of the Year Award Luncheon
The event is generously underwritten by Baird and will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples. The Humanitarian of the Year Award recognizes “human beings who are making a beneficial difference in the lives of other human beings.” This year, the event will honor Juliet C. “Judy” Sproul, Katherine “Katie” Sproul and Jennifer Sproul Sullivan. This is the 14th year in which Hodges University has bestowed the award upon a local individual or individuals. “This year’s honorees have generously given of their time and talents to assist in the development of our local community and many worthy charitable causes,” said Dr. Louis J. Traina, Vice President of University Advancement for Hodges University. “The lives they touch today will continue to shape the lives of future generations.”
