Hodges University recently presented scholarships to two students who attend the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County. Golden Gate High’s Yeuve Predelus and Naples High student Fatchensky Estassin were each awarded a scholarship entitling them to earn an associate degree, tuition-free, at Hodges University. Both students are natives of Haiti and came to the United States following the devastating earthquake that hit the region in 2010.
Over a six-month course, Boys and Girls Club teens visited Hodges University where they attended presentations based on choosing a career and preparing for a job interview, as well as presentations on Allied Health, Criminal Justice, Legal and Business careers.
Once these sessions were completed, the students were given the chance to write an essay entitled, “What a College Education Would Mean to Me?” The 500-word essays were judged by the Academic Committee of Hodges University based on content, style, and grammar.
