The Academic Committee of Hodges University has named Paulo Teixeira the student of the month for July.
The Academic Committee consists of the program chairs and other elected faculty, chaired by the Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Jeanette Brock.
In nominating Teixeira for the honor, Professor Curtis Chapman acknowledged that his excellent grades in class are just a part of why he was nominated for Student of the Year.
“Paulo’s efforts have gone beyond simply doing well in class. For the past several terms we have had supplemental instruction available for Fundamentals of Chemistry class. Although he did not really need this instruction, Paulo attended these sessions to set an example for other students, knowing that one student in particular probably would not otherwise attend. Paulo was a leader in organizing a group of students to meet regularly to study and review together and was always ready to help the others in their understanding of the subject matter. Paulo is very inquisitive and asks excellent and relevant questions during class discussions. He is very deserving of this recognition”
As student of the month, Paulo Teixeira will receive a recognition certificate and a $100 tuition credit.
