Naples, Florida (January 15, 2008) – To celebrate the diversity represented in our community, the Diversity Committee at Hodges University has organized a Diversity Festival. The event takes place Saturday, February 2nd from to at the North Collier Regional Park, on Livingston Road in Naples.
“We must remember that diversity does not divide us, it multiplies us,” says Professor Fabio Tagliasacchi, a founding member of the University’s Diversity Committee. “Diversity makes us more than the sum of our parts. The Festival seeks to unite the many different cultures that exist here, and looks to promote awareness and appreciation for the diversity in our community.”
The event will include active indoor and outdoor presentations, cultural dancing, fashions and music. There will also be displays and information booths hosted by various groups. Cultural food tasting booths will be giving away delicious samples of cuisine from all corners of the globe. Additionally, in the main auditorium, lectures and award presentations will take place from the stage.
The day of the Festival coincides with opening day of the water park for 2008. Admission is free to attend the Festival, and with a special Festival coupon, admission to the water park will be only $10 for a family of four.
Hodges University is nationally recognized for diversity. In the recent US News & World Report ranking of colleges and universities, Hodges was ranked fourth in the south among peer institutions for its diversity.
