The Academic Committee of Hodges University has named Jessica Vanston the student of the month for March. Jessica is studying in the Health Information Management Program and hopes to graduate this fall. Her career goal is to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, and after her children graduate from high school, go back for her Master’s.
Born and raised in Naples, she is a proud mother of three children and one stepchild. Her children are all active in sports which keeps her very busy, but she finds time to work as a server and attend Hodges University.
Jessica also finds time to watch football, both college and pro, and also enjoys boating, camping, mudding and going to concerts. She also admits to enjoying the occasional shopping trip but can’t seem to get her boys involved as well.
Jessica’s favorite class at HU has been Composition 1 with Professor Gomez. “This class is probably tied for the hardest class I’ve taken,” she said, “but it is my favorite because it prepared me for all of the writing assignments I’ve had. Had I not taken this course, I would have struggled in my other classes due to all of the essays that have been required. Thank you, Professor Gomez!”
As the student of the month, Jessica will receive a formal letter with the nomination comments for her portfolio and
files, a certificate and a $100 tuition credit.
