International College Enters Into Partnership with National Graduate School to Provide Bachelor Degree Program at DOD and DHS bases, sites
International College, Naples, FL, has entered into a partnership with the Falmouth, Mass.-based National Graduate School (NGS) to offer a baccalaureate degree completion program at select Departments of Defense and Homeland Security sites.
Founded in 1993, National Graduate School is an institution of higher education that offers graduate degree, certification, and tailored programs to military and civilian personnel of the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, government agencies, and corporate organizations. NGS is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, through its Commission on Institutions of Higher Education, and has partnerships with a half-dozen other schools.
Through this partnership with NGS, International College will grant students the opportunity to complete a bachelor’s degree in management while attending classes on a base. Classes are scheduled to start in the fall at three designated bases.
“International College was selected as our partner for its excellent reputation and forward-looking leadership. Our missions also fit -- both institutions serve their students’ needs first and emphasize practice-based programs,” said, Dr. Robert Gee, President and Founder of National Graduate School. “International College’s management program has an established reputation. It’s extremely well designed and a proven benefit to students. This is an educational opportunity for students already familiar with NGS.”
NGS typically launches group programs throughout various times of the year at locations where there is sufficient enrollment, Gee explained. Students enrolled at NGS are typically those whose military services require that they move on short notice due to mobilization or deployment, making accelerated degree programs and national locations very attractive. This market of students comprises 70 percent of NGS’s student body. Classes and programs are intended to provide uninterrupted regional on-site and online access.
“This partnership will allow us to bring our education to the military. It has always been our intent to see this goal through,” said Jeanette Brock, J.D., Vice President of Academic Affairs of International College. “This is a win/win situation for everyone. Students will have access to a one-year degree completion program, with a natural follow-on to a one-year master’s program. For International College, there will be access to a different student population. For National Graduate School, there will be a bolstering of students to feed into their graduate program.
Under the partnership, International College will offer additional emphases to its Management program curriculum, Brock explained. Those emphases include Quality Systems Management and Homeland Security.
“We are excited about the potential benefits to students, their employers, and to the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security, from the partnership between International College and National Graduate School,” Gee said.
