The Frances Pew Hayes Center for Lifelong Learning at Hodges University will host a series of lectures on seafood safety and sustainability. The lectures will be held on October 14, 21 and 28, each beginning at 1:00pm. They will be held at the Hodges University Science and Technology building, 2655 Northbrooke Drive, just off I-75, in Naples.
This three-part course will address several topics including balancing seafood health benefits and risks, global and domestic seafood supply and demand issues, proper seafood handling and preparation tips, and an overview of Florida’s seafood industry. The instructor will provide participants with several seafood-related resources to take home.
Conducting the lecture series will be Bryan Fleuch. Mr. Fleuch works for the University of Florida Extension Service and is Collier County’s Marine Science Extension Agent. His extension programs focus on marine fisheries, seafood safety and sustainability, and marine stewardship and education.
