The Academic Committee of Hodges University has named Dale Painter the student of the month for September.
Dale is studying in the Management Program and looks to graduate in 2014. She is currently the HR Coordinator at the Community School of Naples and hopes to advance to the HR Manager position.
Originally from California, Dale studied electronics and Spanish at Monterey Peninsula College. She travelled to the South Pacific, Central and South America and the Pacific Northwest while working on passenger ships and freighters out of San Francisco. She came to Naples and worked as a chef on a private yacht in the mid-90’s while operating a catering and personal chef business.
She turned of office administration and also volunteered for various nonprofit organizations in Collier County. As well as being a former member of the Neapolitan Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association, she currently serves on the nominating committee of HR Collier.
During her academic career at Hodges, her favorite class has been Organizational Behavior. “I found the personality and learning style tests very interesting and continue to use what I have learned about behavioral science,” she said. “I find the dynamics of leadership, power and organizational culture fascinating. All of this serves to improve my interpersonal skills and will make me a more effective manager.”
As the student of the month, Dale will receive a formal letter with the nomination comments for his portfolio and files, a certificate and a $100 tuition credit.
