Hodges University to host Veterans Day celebration

The Hodges University Veterans Club, comprised of students who are former veterans, will host a Veterans Day celebration on Tuesday, November 11, beginning at 5:00pm at the Hodges Naples campus, 2655 Northbrooke Drive.

The ceremony will pay tribute to all veterans and acknowledge the many sacrifices and accomplishments put forth which have enabled our country to remain strong and vigilant. The ceremony will begin with a presentation of colors from the Collier County Honor Guard, followed by a speech by guest speaker Major General James Dozier (ret.). General Dozier was awarded the Silver Star for heroism and the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat in Vietnam, and was kidnapped by the leftist Italian "Red Brigades" terrorist group in 1981, spending 42 days in captivity.

WGUF (98.9FM) radio talk show host Dave Elliott will broadcast his show from Hodges University that afternoon from 3 to 6pm.

The public is encouraged to attend the ceremony. For more information, phone 598-6169.
