Center for Lifelong Learning at Hodges to host free lecture on personal safety

The Frances Pew Hayes Center for Lifelong Learning at Hodges University will host a free session on personal safety on June 30, 2010, from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm at Homewood Residence, 770 Goodlette Road and 7th Avenue, in the Commons in Naples.
How can you keep yourself safe in parking lots, walking your dog, and around your community?  This is a presentation that will provide participants with valuable information and techniques in personal safety. This class is designed to increase each participant’s awareness and self-confidence surrounding the activities they do in everyday life. This presentation will consist of instruction, demonstration, and discussion. This class does not require physical activity on the part of the participant.
The session will be conducted by Charles and Judith Marshke. Mr. Marshke is a retired University of Vermont faculty member and a former Program Director of Radiation Therapy Technology in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Department of Medical Laboratory and Radiation Sciences at the University of Vermont. He is also a partner in a unique martial arts school of distinction.  He holds a 5th degree black-belt.

Judith Marschke has spent the last forty years teaching all levels of education in a variety of disciplines. Her career followed an entrepreneurial path, creating several successful businesses.  One of those businesses included a unique martial arts school of distinction. Judith holds a Masters degree in Tae Kwon-Do and currently owns Choice Consulting.
