International College Partners with Salvation Army to AID Hurricane Charley Victims Through Relief Drive/Open House August 21
On Saturday, August 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., International College will serve as a Salvation Army drop-off location for disaster relief efforts aiding Florida residents devastated by Hurricane Charley.
A Hurricane Relief Drive will be held in conjunction with International College’s Annual Fall Preview Open House, which will continue as planned on Saturday at International College’s Fort Myers campus, 8695 College Parkway, and Naples campus, 2655 Northbrooke Drive.
People interested in helping Hurricane Charley victims are encouraged to show their support by donating crucially-needed items, including water, non-perishable food items, bug spray, clothing, blankets, bleach, diapers, and tarps.
International College faculty and the IC Ambassadors, International College’s non-government student organization, will volunteer their time and efforts to collect donated items from the public at both campuses.
“We at International College realize how important it is to assist the community we serve in this time of crisis,” said Terry P. McMahan, International College President. “Many victims feel as though they have lost everything and need an outpouring of support, which should provide them with hope.”
A live radio remote from the International College Naples campus can be heard Saturday on WINK 96.9 FM and MIX 104.7 FM. At the Fort Myers campus, Cat Country (100.1 FM) and B103.9 will hold a live broadcast.
Those unable to attend the Relief Drive on Saturday can leave donations at both campuses this week and throughout the week of August 23.
