Third Annual Golf Invitational Scheduled for OctoberThird Annual Golf Invitational Scheduled for October
Florida golfers have an opportunity to participate in one of Naples’ greatest golf events while helping others land a hole-in-one in terms of their educational goals during the Third Annual Golf Invitational hosted by International College.
Scheduled for October 9, 2006, proceeds from the shotgun-style tournament will serve to benefit student scholarships at the private, not-for-profit college which offers Associate, Baccalaureate and Master level degrees in a variety of professional disciplines.
Beyond the luxury of playing the course at Quail Creek Country Club in Naples, golfers will be treated to lunch and a lavish dinner highlighted by a silent and live auction. Items up-for-grabs include vouchers to area restaurants, lodging accommodations and other goodies uniquely suited for golfers.
The Golf Invitational is co-sponsored by Fifth Third Bank and International College is currently seeking additional sponsors as well as items that can be donated for the auctions.
Courtney Curatolo, public relations director for Lykes Land Investment serves as co-chair of the golf volunteer committee along with local Financial Advisor John Cimino.
This dynamic duo helped International College generate approximately $100,000 for student scholarships from last year’s event.
"For golfers, this tournament and dinner is a lot of fun, but for International College students that benefit from scholarship support, it is fundamental to their mission to get ahead in life," says Curatolo.
"Participants know we devote a lot of time to ensuring they have a good time, but they also know this event serves a great purpose because it is designed to help people who are desperately trying to help themselves by achieving a college degree."
