The Academic Committee of Hodges University has named
Leonard Ballard the student of the month for December.
The Academic Committee consists of the program chairs and other elected faculty, chaired by the Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Jeanette Brock. Leonard was nominated for recognition by Dr. Andrew Weyl.
“I first met Mr. Ballard in the hall of the Naples campus and was immediately impressed with his professional demeanor and articulate communication skills,” said Dr. Weyl. “Several months later, I had him in a Legal Research and Writing class and my first impression of the man turned to be well founded and supported by his abilities to perform well on difficult assignments. Leonard has been able to tap into his law enforcement and military background to clearly understand legal issues, rule of law, facts presented, and analysis of the law based on the facts provided.
“In addition to his research and writing skills, Mr. Ballard has shown a willingness to dedicate the time to understand the subject matter of his courses. In class, he understands the subject matter well and presents very articulate and thoughtful questions. Clearly, he not only does his homework, he gives the subject ample attention and consideration.”
As student of the month, Leonard Ballard will receive a recognition certificate and a $100 tuition credit.
