International College Awarded Business School Accreditation
The International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) has awarded Naples-based International College accreditation for all of its School of Business master degree and baccalaureate degree programs. The IACBE accreditation was granted for ten years, expiring in 2014.
International College’s School of Business was awarded initial accreditation in October 1998. Initial accreditation is similar to candidacy status, where the full accreditation is contingent upon completion of a self-study, site visit, and successful reaffirmation of the institution’s regional accreditation. The full accreditation was recently awarded at the IACBE Annual Conference in Seattle, WA. Last year, the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) reaffirmed International College’s accreditation, paving the way for completion of the IACBE self-study and site visit in August 2003.
Programs included in the IACBE accreditation are: Master of Business Administration, Master of Public Administration, Master of Science in Management, and the Bachelor of Science Degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, and Management.
“IACBE accreditation is another building block in the International College plan for excellence in all programs of study,” said Jeanette Brock, J.D., Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs. “We are very proud of the IACBE accreditation, which was completed with no correctable conditions noted.”
Frederick Nerone, Ph.D., Dean of the School of Business, attended the IACBE conference to receive the accreditation certificate.
“My very capable staff deserves the credit for this honor. They deliver excellent instruction and run the programs in the most professional manner possible. Without the foundation of dedicated faculty, the accreditation would not be possible,” Nerone said.
IACBE accreditation requires an institution to demonstrate its effectiveness through an outcomes assessment program, which incorporates continuous improvement. The result is a never-ending pursuit of excellence, which benefits students.
“This is one of the distinctions of International College. We never stop working to provide students with a practical and quality education,” Nerone added
Kansas-based IACBE is a specialized accrediting body for business and business-related degree programs at the baccalaureate and graduate degree levels in colleges and universities within the United States and around the world.
