SCORE Presents Free Workshop Focusing On Women In Business

The Naples/Collier Chapter of SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) is holding a free workshop called “Women Starting in Business,” Saturday, April 27, 2002.

The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the North Regional Library, 2325 Orange Blossom Drive at Airport Road.

Female entrepreneurs will share their experiences in starting their own businesses in the area and give advice on what it takes to succeed. Participants will learn how to develop a business plan and find other resources and organizations that help women starting their own businesses.

Scheduled to speak are: Barbara Bradshaw, owner, Mesa Machinery, who carved out a niche by selling heavy machinery for Government projects; Roxanne Nolton, president and majority owner, Forge Engineering, who founded a premier firm in Naples in the field of planning and design of major construction projects; Terri Ellison, president and owner, Viva La Difference, who started a new beauty spa eight months ago; Carolyn Hoover, president, Ad Designs of Naples, who broke away from an advertising company to start her own.

Melody Hainsworth, Vice President of Information Resources and Services at International College, will moderate the event.
