The Frances Pew Hayes Center for Lifelong Learning at Hodges University will host a free session on the local dining scene. The session, “The Restaurant World in Naples”
will be held on June 25, from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm, at the Homewood Residence Learning Center in the Commons, off of Goodlette Road, in Naples.
The session will offer an interesting insight into the way local Naples residents like to dine. Big names, famous chefs, chains and mom & pop eateries offer a very different and varied plethora of options. Who is going to make it? What makes a restaurant a winner? Where is the dining scene in Naples headed? These are only some of the questions restaurant critic Chiara Assi will answer. The session will also include an ice cream sundae bar feast and a Naples restaurant prize giveaway.
Chiari Assi was born and raised in Milano, Italy. Chiara grew up in a family of food lovers and professional cooks. Whether she was making gnocchi with her grandmother or observing her parents putting together their famous dinner parties, she showed an interest in food at a very young age. Traveling around the world with her family she learned to love different cultures and cuisines and has sampled an amazing array of foods. She moved to Florida in 2001 and started working for the Naples Daily News in 2006. When she isn't dining out to review restaurants, she loves to stay home and cook recipes from her 98 cookbooks.
The session is free of charge but reservations are required. To reserve a seat, please contact Christine Wheeler at (239) 598-6133.
