International College Announces Two New Scholarship Fundraising Events to Be Held October 11
MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL HALL-OF-FAMER JOHNNY BENCH TO HOST AUCTION
WHO: International College announces its First Annual Scholarship Golf Invitational and Dinner/Dance.
WHEN/WHERE: Monday, October 11, at Quail Creek Country Club, 13300 Valewood Drive.
WHAT/WHY: Proceeds from the International College 2004 Golf Invitational and Dinner will underwrite the Friends of The College Student Scholarship, an award program that connects students with additional vital sources of tuition assistance for circumstances ranging from long-range educational financial indebtedness to unexpected immediacy, such as the devastation of Hurricane Charley or medical emergencies.
IF YOU GO/COST: The day will offer a little something for everyone. For the day-time event, lunch begins at 11 a.m., followed by the golf invitational. For the evening event, dinner begins at 7 p.m., followed by the auction and dancing. Scholarships will be awarded to students after dinner. The cost for all-day access is $200 per person; $90 per person for the Dinner/Dance only.
CELEBRITY GUEST: Baseball Hall-of-Famer Johnny Bench will serve as the host for the auction. Bench played 2,158 games as catcher for the Cincinnati Reds from 1968 to 1983. Bench was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in January 1989.
