The Professional Development Center at Hodges University will host a free session discussing the psychology of weight loss. The session will be held on Monday, December 3, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Hodges Naples campus, 2655 Northbrooke Drive.
This interactive course will focus on understanding the psychological processes underlying weight loss/management. Participants will spend time exploring various strategies that support successful behavior change. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to utilize these practical strategies to support their own weight loss/management and to improve their health and overall well-being.
The program will be hosted by Kathy Feinstein. A licensed mental health counselor and sport performance consultant based in Naples, Feinstein has more than 14 years of professional experience counseling children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. Additionally, Feinstein has post-graduate training in both pediatric obesity and sport and exercise psychology. Her special interests include anxiety and mood disorders, grief and loss, parenting issues, pediatric obesity, performance enhancement, relationship issues, team and coach consulting and weight management. Feinstein holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of South Florida and a master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University.
