SCORE Returns to International College
The Naples/Collier Chapter of the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) has partnered with International College to provide their popular monthly seminars at the school’s campus in Naples.
On November 19, 2005, International College will host the first of scheduled SCORE workshops in a session that will focus on book and record keeping in terms of manual and computerized applications.
A December 10 workshop will provide fundamentals of writing a business plan.
Both workshops will last from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
"This is a great opportunity to better serve our students," says International College Vice President Dr. Louis Traina.
He adds, "As counselors to America’s small business, SCORE members know what it takes to overcome challenges and achieve success in today’s competitive market place. Our students are not just seeking academic degrees; they are seeking meaningful careers in business, management, public administration and a range of other professions. Our partnership with SCORE provides students with greater access to quality, one-on-one counseling and professional guidance as is provided through SCORE’s monthly seminars and workshops. It’s an invaluable service, yet it is offered free of charge."
.SCORE’s presence at International College marks something of a homecoming for the organization says 2005 Score Chairman Jack Dwight.
"Our local chapter actually began by launching an office that was maintained at International College. As the college’s student population grew, so too did demand for classroom space and faculty offices which ultimately made it necessary for us to find another location," adds Dwight.
In the time since, SCORE has conducted much of their workshops at Naples Central Library and has established an office within the Fifth/Third Bank Building at 900 Goodlette Road North in Naples.
International College has continued to support SCORE by lending support to the chapter’s communication efforts.
"We’re excited about returning to International College because the mission of the school relates so closely to the mission of our organization," says 2006 SCORE Chairman Ekkehard Grampp. "We’re both dedicated to helping others develop successful careers."
