Hodges University and its Diversity Committee has selected the awardees for the 2011 Hodges University Individual Excellence in Diversity and the Corporate Excellence in Diversity Awards. Both will be honored by the Diversity Committee at the 4th Annual Hodges University Diversity Festival at Sugden Regional Park in Naples, Florida on March 5, 2011.
· HU Individual Excellence in Diversity Award Recipient: Marcus D. Goodson
Mr. Goodson is in every respect a positive role model in the community. His diversity in business practices and his commitment to improving living conditions for all people in Lee County set him apart. He is dedicated to assisting low-income families with safe, decent and affordable housing opportunities as they strive to achieve self-sufficiency and improve their lives. Mr. Goodson has proven himself able to make the changes necessary to improving the physical condition of housing in Lee County as well as deterring criminal activity and loitering.
· HU Corporate Excellence in Diversity Award: Lee Memorial Health System
Open since 1916, Lee Memorial Health System (LMHS) continues to be an award-winning health care system with more than a million patient contacts each year. LMHS is known for its outreach work, contributing greatly to the people in our region. Its diversity in hiring practices and commitment to providing opportunities to a supplier base as diverse as the communities it serves make LMHS worthy of recognition.
