Hodges University Trustee, Vice-Chairman J. Keith Arnold, will be the featured keynote speaker at Hodges University’s summer 2011 English as a Second Language (ESL) Ft. Myers class graduation ceremony. The event will take place on August 22, 2011, at 10:00 am, at the University’s Ft. Myers campus, 4501 Colonial Boulevard. The graduation is a certificate and award ceremony which recognizes students’ accomplishments and their completion of Hodges’ intensive English program.
“We are honored that Vice-Chairman Arnold will speak to our Ft. Myers ESL graduates,” said Leisha Klentzeris, Director of the ESL program at Hodges. “His many years of public service should serve as an inspiration to our graduates in how they, too, can give back to the community in which they live.
“For some students, this ceremony is the closest they will get to a college graduation. For others, this ceremony is truly a rite of passage as they enter Hodges as matriculated students or just step out more confidently and better equipped to play a role in our society. These students work very hard and are dedicated to learning the English language, helping them achieve a variety of personal goals.”
Mr. Arnold is a fifth generation Floridian from Ft. Myers who served in the Florida House of Representatives for 16 years. In 1982, at 23 years old, he was the youngest member elected to the House, and at the age of 28 became the youngest majority leader in state history. He founded the firm J. Keith Arnold and Associates in December of 2004, and plays a critical role in the development of the firm's strategic positioning in dealing with legislative and executive issues. He also focuses on client development and interaction with state officials. Keith Arnold has served as a Hodges Trustee since 1999.
