Hodges to host free seminar for women

Students in the Interdisciplinary Studies program at Hodges University will host a free seminar for women on Tuesday, August 11, from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The session, “Women Empowering Women,” will be held at the Hodges University Naples campus, 2655 Northbrooke Drive, near Immokalee and I-75.

According to Marcia Brooks, assistant Dean of Students at Hodges, the program plans to answer many questions that face women today. “We plan to question the status quo and to help women challenge assumptions and push the boundaries that exist today,” she said.

“The students have invited several local women of distinction as guests of our forum to help attendants brainstorm and answer questions that will assist women in coping with life’s many transitions as well as the current tough economic times. It should be an informative and exciting seminar.”

Invited panelists include Penny Taylor, Vice Mayor of Naples; Irene Williams, Vice President of the Collier County Chapter of the NAACP; Camden Smith, Public Information Coordinator for Collier County; and Linda Sechrist, editor of Natural Awakenings magazine.

The seminar if free, but reservations are requested. For more information or to register, please phone Suzan Gallucci at (239) 594-5789.
